Andrea Glenn, director of the Pattonville Board of Education, announced she is resigning from the school board, effective June 15, due to a relocation to Kansas. The board of education will begin accepting applications later this month from individuals interested in filling her position and remaining term.
Interested persons must submit an application packet to the secretary to the board of education between 8:30 a.m. on June 22 and 4 p.m. on July 7 in order to be considered for the vacant position. Application packets may be picked up from the secretary to the board of education at the Pattonville Learning Center, 11097 St. Charles Rock Road in St. Ann. Packets are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and must be returned to the same location by the July 7 deadline. Applications will not be accepted on July 4 when the district is closed for the Independence Day holiday.
In July, the board of education will review the applications of interested candidates and vote on the board’s appointment. The newly appointed board member is expected to be installed and sworn into office during the board’s July 26 meeting and serve until the term ends on April 11, 2023, following the general election that month.
Candidates for the board must be at least 24 years of age, a United States citizen and a resident taxpayer of the district. Service on the board of education is a volunteer position, and board members do not receive any pay for their service.
