On Aug. 8, the board voted to appoint Ruth Petrov to fill an open seat on the Pattonville Board of Education that was vacated by board director Andrea Glenn. Petrov took the oath of office during the board meeting on Aug. 9.

Petrov will serve on the board to complete Glenn's term, which ends on April 11, 2023. At that time, a candidate elected during the April 4, 2023, election will start a three-year term. This appointment begins Petrov's 19th year on the board. She did not run for re-election this April. Petrov holds a master's degree in healthcare administration and is employed at DePaul Hospital's outpatient surgery center. Petrov and her husband, Larry, are the parents of four Pattonville graduates.
