Pattonville celebrates 2023 homecoming

Pattonville pirates of all ages came out this weekend to celebrate homecoming. On Friday, Oct. 13, the Pirates played a strong match against the Hazelwood Central Hawks but ultimately fell 32-15. During halftime, the drill team presented their traditional homecoming performance and the marching band and guard performed their award-winning show “The Army of Anubis.” Also during halftime, the homecoming court was presented and seniors Emily Cremer and Paulie Palermo were named queen and king, respectively.

Saturday, Oct. 14 started off with a K-8 half mile fun run. At 10 a.m., the annual homecoming parade begin. Floats matched this year’s homecoming theme: Big City Lights. Featured cities included Hollywood, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans and New York, as well as the fictional cities of Gotham City from "Batman" and Arendelle from “Frozen.” Before the parade started, all of the floats were judged, with the following groups receiving honors:

  • Green and White (best community float) - Dance Factory
  • Traveling Trophy (best elementary/middle school float) - Remington Traditional School (Las Vegas)
  • Outstanding Class Float - Sophomore Class
  • Pete’s Pick (Outstanding student club/organization/sport float) - International Club 
  • Outstanding Theme - Drummond Elementary School (Gotham City)
