Board Actions
The board of education on June 11:
- Heard a Prop S update on current construction work; view the presentation;
- Reviewed and approved the budget for the 2024-2025 school year; read the report or view the presentation;
- Approved paying $4,800,016.0 for regular bills;
- Approved, subject to audit, the financial statements for May 2024;
- Approved paying $258,934.64, for purchases made on Pattonville’s purchasing cards, which earned the district a rebate of 1% (or $2,589.34);
- Declared a list of items as surplus to be sold on the district’s GovDeals.com page;
- Approved the resolution authorizing disbursement of funds authorizing the chief financial officer to issue and disburse payments drawn on the district’s bank accounts to employees, creditors, vendors and others who are owed money by the district;
- Approved the list of 2024-2025 grants; see the list;
- Approved a resolution reversing the operating levy voluntary roll backs to meet operating revenue and tax levy goals established by voters with the passage of Proposition P in 2013;
- Approved paying EducationPlus $21,562.25 for the balance of the 2024-2025 annual membership dues (60%);
- Adopted instructional materials for 6-12 modern language education for $158,000;
- Adopted instructional materials for 6-12 family consumer science education for $68,000;
- Adopted instructional materials for K-12 English learner (EL) education for $1144,659.71;
- Approved curriculum course change recommendations for the 2024-2025 school year;
- Approved revisions to Pattonville School District's 2024-2025 student behavior guides;
- Approved the recommendation for number of paraprofessionals for the 2024-2025 school year;
- Approved, as lodged for action on May 14, the 2023-2024 budget revisions;
- Approved, as lodged for action on May 14, the revisions to policies EBBA (Illness and Injury Response and Prevention), GBEBA (Drug-Free Workplace), GCBA-R (Advancement of Professional Staff Salary Schedule), GDCBB-R (Employee Uniform Regulation), GDL-R (Educational Assistance Plan - Support Staff), JFCH (Student Alcohol and Drug Use) and JHCD (Administration of Medications to Students);
- Awarded the bid for Food Service Management Company to Chartwells for an estimated $1,464,963;
- Approved contract extension with SchooLinks from Jan. 1, 2027, through Dec. 31, 2027, for $29,093.02;
- Approved the renewal agreement with Transportation Solutions Services Inc., dba Axel, for the 2024-2025 school year for estimated $400,000;
- Accepted the renewal of the Canvas Learning Management System subscription from Instructure for $35,820;
- Accepted the contract from Netcom Inc. for the purchase of 51 new security cameras for $34,117.28;
- Accepted the quote from Apple Inc. for 4,600 iPads, AppleCare+ and cases for K-8 students districtwide for $2,834,810 with a lease of $708,705.50 per year for four years;
- Approved the execution and delivery of a master lease purchase agreement and Schedule No. 10 for 4,600 Apple iPads for grades K-8 in an amount not to exceed $2,834,810 (a zero interest lease) for a term not to exceed four years;
- Approved the plan design and premiums of the district's health insurance for the 2025 plan school year;
- Approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IFM Community Medicine to form a collaborative working relationship to connect residents with medical services to meet their needs; the district will compensate IFM $20,000 per year and be reimbursed through a grant from the state;
- Accepted the bid from SCI Engineering, Inc. to conduct drinking water sampling in accordance with Missouri’s Get the Lead Out of School Water Act for $26,730 for the collection and analytical testing of up to 810 samples with each additional sample billed at $33; the cost of this sampling will be reimbursed through a grant from the Missouri Department of Health and Human Services;
- Awarded the quote for the purchase and installation of furniture at Drummond and Parkwood elementary schools, Holman Middle School and Pattonville High School for $99,971.38;
- Awarded the proposal to retrofit eight school buses with air conditioning to Central States for $126,696; and
- Approved the purchase of decodable books for elementary teachers to use in small groups with students from Academic Therapy Publications/High Noon Books for $30,294.
