Pattonville Heights Middle School students in sixth grade English language arts classes were invited to a “book tasting” last week to introduce them to different reading genres.

The teachers — Chelsea Bowles and Emily Weber along with teacher librarian Julie Harder — provided a fun and engaging way for students to explore new books.

The students rotated tables to explore a variety of genres before getting the opportunity to check out a book. 

“They were able to choose where they started by filling out a reservation form last week for the genre they most wanted to look at,” Bowles said. “We didn't let them choose the second table because we wanted them to at least look at books that they may not look at normally.”

-The first meeting of the National Art Honor Society will be held Wednesday after school in room g112.  Come find out about leadership and service through art.  Applications for membership are located outside g112 and due by September 28th. 

-FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will be meeting in Room G206 at 6:00pm tonight.  Come for Food, Fun, and Fellowship.  See yall there!

-Parkwood Elementary needs volunteers for the Back to School Bash, Friday, Sept. 16th. Stop by the CSO for information on signing up

-Sababa, a one day Jewish festival held at WashU on Sunday, Sept. 18th. Please stop by the CSO for information on signing up. 

-The results are in for Freshman Class officers!

ACT Prep help for math will be offered on Wednesday, September 7th from 6 pm to 8 pm in H205 for any student preparing to take the September 10th test.  You do not need to sign up, just show up!
