PAW-kwood first graders celebrate the 101st day of school

The first graders at PAW-kwood … ahem, I mean Parkwood Elementary celebrated the 101st day of school with a 101 Dalmatian Celebration.
 
Students had a dress up day and wore black and white clothes and created their own dalmatian headbands and Froot Loop dog tags this morning. Each activity made students practice counting to 101.

Here are a few reminders:

 

5th grade camp applications are due Monday, January 31!  Bring them by the CSO in room E200 to Mrs. Fleig.

 

Please bring GSA your old shoes for their charitable Shoe Drive. You can drop them off at the table in the corner across from the cafeteria. Thank You!

 

Any student that wants to go to the Library they need to have a pass from their teacher.

 

The Power School portal is open to enter classes for next school year! All students must enter their course requests by Friday, Feb. 4.

 

Rose Acres students deliver thank you letters to healthcare workers

Fourth grade students from Rose Acres Elementary delivered thank you letters to health care workers at SSM Health DePaul Hospital - St. Louis on Monday, Jan. 25, after school. They chose to write letters of gratitude to health care workers for a class project as part of a month of kindness and practicing their letter writing skills. Their fourth grade teachers are Grace Burgos, Kirstie Hummert and Mary Spitzmiller.

Students use food as a tool to learn about science

You can't play with your food, but there's no rule about learning with it. Students at Rose Acres Elementary School, Holman Middle School and Pattonville High School all used food as part of lessons today.

Community Service Opportunities 

Applications for 5th grade camp and are due by Jan. 31.  Sophomores, juniors and seniors may apply and can earn 50 hours of community service!

 

The Remington Drama Club needs volunteers to help paint sets on Mondays and Fridays 3-5pm! 

 

Pattonville needs scorekeepers for the Heights Middle School basketball program on Mondays from 4-6pm!

Last Chance Formal Senior Pictures will be photographed at school: Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 1:30-4:30pm In room B104. Any current 11th grade students interested in taking the Missouri Personal Finance EOC Assessment to earn their personal finance credit will need to register by February 9th.  The EOC will be given on February 16th after school.  Information and registration is on the Pattonville High School website under Personal Finance Assessment.  If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Martinez.

 

 

The Fiber Arts Club will meet during contact time in Ms. Mulanax’s room E206 this Thursday, Jan 27 th . We’re going to take some club pictures! Come by before then to get a pass.

 

Anyone interested in trying out for baseball this spring should attend the meeting this Thursday January 27th during contact time in the Multi Purpose Room.

 

Do you have some gently used shoes taking up space in your closet at home? Please consider donating them to charity. GSA is doing a fund drive to help our club and help those in need by collecting your gently used shoes through an organization called F2O. Their Goal is to collect 2,500 pairs of shoes by the end of March and we need your help. You can drop off your shoes at the table in the corner of the commons between the concession stand and the pool in the corner across from the cafeteria. It's a win-win-win! Thanks for your donations!
