High school choir students selected for Artists in Training program

Six Pattonville High School students were among 20 St. Louis-area high school students chosen through local auditions to participate in the Opera Theatre of St. Louis' highly selective Artists in Training (AIT) program. 

Juniors Da'Shon Dunn, Kenedi Jenkins, Jahlil Johnson and Sarah Nelson, and seniors Hannah Radican and Alyssa Van Hooser were picked for the program while junior Javan Williams was selected as an alternate. Their choir teachers at Pattonville are Tracy Baker and Melynda Lamb.

Homecoming Tickets All homecoming ticket sales end today September 24th. If you are planning on bringing a guest, the forms are due today, no exceptions.

Homecoming spirit week is September 27th - October 1st! The theme for homecoming is Night at the Movies. Each grade level has been given a movie genre to go along with the theme. Freshman - Western movies, Sophomores: Horror/Thriller movies, Juniors: Animated movies, Seniors: Adventure/Action movies. The spirit dress up days are the following...Monday - dress up in Pattonville gear, Tuesday - Twin day, Wednesday - Weather confused day, Thursday - dress up with the movie theme of your class, Friday - Class colors day (Freshman: yellow, Sophomores: blue, Juniors: Red, and Seniors: Green)

 

Community Service Volunteers are needed this Saturday, 9/25 for a trivia night at the JCC.  Stop by the CSO in room E200 for more information!

Pirates find hidden treasure using coordinates

The Pirates in Mr. Matt Loyet’s sixth grade social studies class participated in a treasure hunt today. Using specific coordinates and satellite mode on Apple Maps, they went outside and looked for gold coins Loyet had hidden around Holman Middle School. 

“We’re doing a geography unit to start the year off right now and we’re learning about latitude and longitude,” he said. “I just thought this was a good way to have them use what they learned.”
